Comfrey is such a special plant. It is so well loved by the bees and has been an ally to humans for generations. It is known to help fractured bones heal so quickly that the old ones warned never to use comfrey until the broken bone is set, otherwise it will start to knit back together too soon!
Comfrey helps cells proliferate because of a chemical compound called allantoin. Comfrey cream should never be used on puncture wounds or deep cuts because it will help the surface of the skin heal so quickly that any dirt or bacteria could be trapped inside causing infection. Comfrey cream is perfectly suited for superficial cuts, scrapes, burns, blisters, stings and insect bites. It is also soothing to deep muscle pain and can be used topically for muscle pain or fatigue.
Comfrey should not be taken internally.
