Cleavers, Galium aparine, is also known as bedstraw, sticky grass, goosegrass, velcro grass, grip grass, catch weed, etc. When you meet this plant, you may find it sticking fast to your pants. The leaves have tiny hook-like hairs which make them stick tightly to fabrics. These are fun for kids and adults alike. 
 
Like other spring greens, cleavers are cleansing, cooling, and supportive of the kidneys and lymphatic system. These wonderful plants are great at moving stagnation and helping to ease water retention.
