Dandelion root has long been celebrated as a spring tonic and support for healthy blood. It is called an alterative, which means it is widely supportive of health, wellness and vitality. The alterative functions of dandelion are likely related to the high mineral content (especially potassium, iron, calcium and zinc).

Dandelion root has an affinity for the liver and is strengthening of the bile,  also helping to thin fluids and reduce congestion and stagnation in the liver. It is also helpful in removing excess fluid from the body with its diuretic properties.

This tincture is made from dandelion roots harvested in the spring before flowering here in the Sacred Grove, and tinctured fresh in alcohol.
