The heart is so much more than an organ that moves blood through the body.
 
It is a gland, a sensory organ, an organ of communication and perception. Our heart speaks the language of Life, the language of every stone, every raindrop and every creature with whom we share this Earth.
 
Nourishing the heart is our way of coming back to Life. The Rose family is renowned for it affinity for the spiritual and emotional heart, healing grief and heartbreak with its resonance with the Divine Mother. Strawberries are a member of the rose family, along with the Wild Rose and Blackberry flowers in this elixir. Motherwort and Lemon Balm calm the nervous system of the heart along with toning the cardiovascular system and imbuing the heart with the fortitude so associated with the heart. The root of the word courage is the latin word for heart. Cardamom and cacao are sensual, uplifting, vitalizing and nurturing the emotional and spiritual heart. Both the cardamom pods and the cacao pods looking so much like the life giving breasts of the Mother, who holds us to Her heart as she nourishes us all. 
 
All plants in this Elixir except the cardamom and cacao were harvested here at our home in the Sacred Grove. The plants were left to commune in brandy for 6 weeks and then strained. Raw local honey from Gingerich Apiary is added at bottling.
